Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Aesthetics

Design

Function
The Bentley Mulsanne key comes with an opening button for the trunk, and another button that starts the car. The key also has a switch for turning on the parking brake. The key is constructed from vegetable tanned leather and takes about two days to craft each one. The key is cut by hand, then shaped, sewed and sealed, then polished to achieve a high-quality result. Bentley's Mulliner division allows customers to create their own car. The guests sit at a collection of images, referred to "mood stations" and choose a selection of photos - from scenic landscapes to sporting events that will inspire them. Every time a choice is made the pattern that emerges is the model colors, style and color preferences for the bespoke Bentley.
The resulting configuration is then loaded onto individual R.F.I.D.-enabled keys that are then presented to guests in a hand-crafted key case.
